Coherence Coaching is rooted in Coherence Therapy, a psychotherapeutic approach developed by Bruce Ecker. Coherence Therapy focuses on uncovering emotional learnings and hidden beliefs that drive our thoughts and behaviors, often unconsciously. Many of our challenges persist because they are supported by unconscious “truths” stored in our nervous system. Once these underlying beliefs are fully experienced and integrated in a safe, supportive way, they can naturally dissolve, creating space for new, more empowering ways of being.
Memory Reconsolidation: How Your Brain Updates Old Patterns
Memory Reconsolidation is your brain’s built-in way of updating old memories so they don’t control you anymore. Normally, once a memory is stored, it feels fixed — like a file saved on your computer. But when a memory is reactivated — when you think about it or feel it again — the brain connections holding that memory become temporarily flexible. During this “window,” the memory can actually be changed or updated before it settles back into place.
In simple terms, this means old emotional reactions or beliefs aren’t stuck forever. They can be reshaped with new experiences, making them less intense or even disappear.
